WCM Memorial Car

This car has a huge emotional attachment to the WCM community and everyone in general.  We got an email from a friend of ours saying that the car that Scott's car need to have a little work done.

I myself never got the pleasure to meet Scott or his family.  But that doesn't mean that the plight of WCM didn't move us into action.  His girlfriend brought us the car to finish it for Scott as sort of a remembrance to his memory.

Scott passed away in 2006 from a very strong form of cancer.  That wasn't before he touched the lives of so many people.  This story hit very close to home for me as my father had past a few years prior and my VW is a tribute to him as well.

As you can see the car was not in any bad shape just needed a few tweaks here and there.

He had always wanted a boser hood, and shaved hatch.  After talking to Mackie and a few others we decided that if we were going to do this car we were going to do it all.

So the list included:

Boser, 20th lip, euro front and rear bumpers, black roof, shaved hatch, and a few secret items.

Here is the car in mock up with the Euro bumpers on and bolted.  We needed to see if they would fit.

As we said before we don't use plastic filler or strickly bondo to fill the emblem hole.  Here you can see most of the process we go through with every car.

This is the part of the show were we show how we build our boser hoods.  As you can see we didn't use the fiberglass extension.  This is a metal piece that is WELDED to the hood, not glued.  This way we can do any extension your heart can dream up.

Oh ya the black roof... almost forgot about that.  Might as well post a few pics of it getting ready for the silver paint as well.

Fresh from paint and before final assembly.  The car started to come together.  It is deffinantly different and that is the look we were going for.

As you can see we are pleased with the outcome and we hope everyone at WCM is pleased as well.
